Action Group and Events Photos

The new NSW Regional Website will be up and happening soon.

Send all your recent photos from events to nswwebsite@amnesty.org.au with a short blurb so that they can get them ready for when the new site goes live!

Access to Urgent Action letter-writing materials online

Urgent Actions can be found via the online action centre at this address http://action.amnesty.org.au/iar/comments/letters/

It's good to bookmark this page if you are going to be looking for them on a regular basis. There is a comments section where activists/local groups/anyone can also say what they have been doing for these Urgent Action cases.

The Urgent Actions are checked daily (mon-fri) against updates from the International Secretariat to ensure they are current. It is the Australian version of the Urgent Action that goes up on the website, making it more user friendly for Australian activists with the postal addresses and salutations for diplomatic representatives in Australia, as well as those of the main targets of the action. The selection of Urgent Action reflects a geographical spread and AIA campaign priorities, where possible.

Welcome

Hi All,

This is a new approach to the NSW Community Campaigner Update...let's try it for a while and see how it works for us.

Basically I will be posting to this blog regularly with information to support your work for Amnesty International defending human rights.

Each post will be titled with a heading that is relevant to allow you to quickly access what information you need (and search it later if you need to check it again).

To ensure you are all keeping in touch with the blog I will send everyone on the NSW Community Campaigner Update list an email with a link to the blog each fortnight. Similarly, if you have a group list you can also include a link to the blog when you send your updates.

Finally, if you have no idea how to access the blog and don't understand what this is then please call me.

Thanks for your continued commitment to defending human rights and I hope you find the blog useful.

Cheers,
Jenny
